why isn’t san jose famous?

i live in the silicon valley and i want to know why doesn’t this area get enought media attention? i’m tired of hearing about new from new york or LA. The silicon valley is the birth center of technology and we have important people living here and it is known to have the best climate in the world in Redwood city. i know we have a lot of important things here like Stanford and Santa Clara Univerity. We have over 1,000,000 people living in san jose and it is still way more than oakland and san francisco and soon we are hoping to have the oakland A’s move to norther santa clara.

We do have important folks here; we also have a lot of self-important people here and it’s sometimes difficult to tell the difference. But also, the things you’ve placed “in” San Jose are actually elsewhere. Redwood City is its own municipality. Stanford is in Palo Alto. Santa Clara U is in Santa Clara. The A’s aren’t coming to San Jose, they’re going to Santa Clara.

Locally speaking, San Jose is a little town that grew big. And locals know that. Globally speaking, it’s a suburb of San Francisco. Don’t believe it? Go to another continent and tell people where you’re from. They won’t recognize it until you say “south of San Francisco”. Forty years ago somebody wrote a hit song about San Jose, and that’s about all the recognition you’re likely to see.
